Pop of Red

It’s been quite some time, but I am back! The chaos of getting ready for my freshman year of college has finally settled and now I am just shopping for some dorm necessities. I took some time out to travel to Asbury Park, New Jersey (about a half hour south of me) to take some pictures and enjoy good food. I’ve talked about Porta before on here but in case you missed it, it’s a trendy, Italian hotspot for shore loving New Jerseyans. Click here for my last post at Porta.

This time around I took some pictures with one of my best friends, headed to Porta for lunch and then indulged in delicious vegan ice cream at a shop called Cookman Creamery.

My outfit I wanted to keep really, really simple. I wanted the outfit to revolve around the bright red mules. You can get them here for only $21. I am obsessed with them because they’re not only super affordable but they make any simple outfit pop. I stuck with classic, silver accessories to match the metal around the pockets of my white skirt. My top is a simple, plunging, grey body suit and again, super affordable. Outfit details are below!

Grey Bodysuit: Boohoo (now $6)

White Skirt: Lucky Clover

Necklaces: Gifted

Rings: Alex & Ani

Shoes: 2020Ave

It’s Almost That Time…

It’s almost the time where I place my graduation cap on and walk to get my diploma! Officially ending high school is starting to freak me out, it’s crazy to think in less than three short months I’ll be moving to my new home, Connecticut. Due to my crazy busy end of the year schedule, I haven’t been able to take any pictures for a fashion post so I thought I’d collect pictures from the last couple weeks to put together a current lifestyle post!

The first pictures are from a college night my friend hosted. Basically, we celebrated all choosing our college! It was an exciting and super happy night for everyone. The second group of pictures is from my senior prom. My dress was a berry, wine colored Jovani dress which you can find here. It was a little different than my usual style and color choices but I am so happy I took a chance on it. It feels nice not having to stress about hair, nails, makeup or dress anymore! Onto new stress, FINALS!! Ugh, I’m ready to graduate..

My Favorite Healthy Cookie

I have been working really hard physically to get myself where I want to be. I have completely limited my snacking and have been making strides to a more healthy lifestyle. Of course, every now and then I allow myself to splurge (to a certain degree) but day to day when I’m craving something savory these almond butter cookies are my go to. Almond butter is a healthy fat, made for you to stay fuller longer. That’s the main ingredient out of this four ingredient recipe. Yes, only four ingredients!! The other ingredients are rolled oats which are packed with a ton of fiber, honey which is good for your immune system and promotes weight loss and then an egg which is a good source of antioxidants.

Combined these ingredients create a savory, soft and chewy cookie, not to mention it’s super high in protein. You can always add things to you your cookies too! I typically will add a little cinnamon and chia seeds for extra health benefits. The one downside to these cookies is that they’re so addicting. I baked around 12 the other night and within two days…gone. Hope you all try them out, you won’t regret it. Click here for recipe!

A Day In My Life + Outfit

It is officially shorts weather!! It felt like the time would never come again but finally, the high temperature by the Jersey Shore is calling for tank tops and shorts. I am hoping the 80’s don’t leave us. It happened to be a perfect, sunny Saturday so my friends and I brunched at a cute inside/outside restaurant called The Robinson Ale House. It has such yummy food, you can check out the menu here if you’re from New Jersey! I got the BLT+A which was a BLT but with avocado, sooo tasty.

I love New Jersey and one of my favorite towns here is Red Bank! It has the cutest downtown area, full of shops and restaurants. I hope the pictures below capture just how adorable this little town just is.

Spring Must-Haves!

It’s about time the spring weather is finally in full swing. Unlike most, I’ll sorta miss the chilly weather. I love my jeans and cozy sweaters, shorts and tees just don’t cut it for me some days. I definitely try to work the jean and flip-flop look for as long as the heat allows me to. However, now that it is officially spring I listed some of my favorite, must-have spring products!

I was fortunate enough to work with the brand Harry’s  on this post and I know if you’re familiar with the brand you may be thinking, why are you using men’s razors or products? Well, it turns out Harry’s products were really designed for both men and women. They reached out to me in hopes of a review from a female perspective and I have to say I really loved the product! Truthfully, the razor wasn’t sharp to the point where I could possibly cut myself from pressing too hard (for some reason I thought a men’s razor would be hella sharp). It shaved nicely and the foaming shaving gel smelt not too masculine or feminine. Definitely, would recommend Harry’s products, and that’s my honest opinion!

Spring Must-Haves!

1. DREAM PURE BB CREAM: I have super sensitive, pale, acne-prone skin and I have been using this for two years and nothing works better on my skin. I hate how cakey foundations is, this product really just makes you look fresh faced for hours, feels super light too! Major plus salicylic acid (acne treatment).

2. HOOLA MATTE BRONZER: Okay so I love/hate this product. Love because this product is versatile, I can put this in my crease to warm up my eyes but I also hate it because this product can easily be too dark on my skin. I really need to get my hands on the new Hoola Lite Matte Bronzer, probably perfect for paler skin tones.

3. WET N WILD MEGALAST NAIL COLOR: Megalast? Definitely not. Although I’ve tried every nail brand on the market and honestly they all chip and wear down (I’m more of a gel nail kinda girl, they stay sooo much longer!) I haven’t had luck with any of the higher end polishes so I have turned to the cheaper ones for a quick paint. I really love the Wet Wild polish because it wears just as long as other polishes. Of course, it chips and doesn’t last a full week but the color is perfect for the time I need it to be and comes off super easy with nail polisher remover. This one is a mauvey tone, I love mauve all year round (bottle doesn’t say exact color).

4. COLOR SENSATIONAL INTI-MATTE NUDES: Love this color (ofc another mauve), it’s creamy and is long wearing.

5. NIPPIES SKIN: I love this product and I’m so sorry if it’s TMI but ohhh myy gooooosh best product ever!! Such a must have, they stick better than all the others and the wear over and over again! Look at it, and ladies you’ll know what they’re for.

6. KAMMI PEEP TOE BOOTIE: Well I love these, I like the brown but I preferably love the black. I wore them in by walking around NYC (awful f*cking idea). I had blisters, bad, bad, bad blisters but I survived. I love the neutral color and how they can be worn on warm or chilly occasions.

7. WINSTON SET SHAVING SET: Such a sleek looking razor. It’s quite heavy but I really love the color and look of it, I don’t really mind the weight to it. Shaves well, nothing really significant.

8. LIVE ORIGINAL: Well this is just a good read so I thought I’d include it. If you’re not religious or Christian it may not be your pick but Sadie Robinson (Duck Dynasty) tells a story through her values, lessons, and beliefs as a teenager.
