Neon summer shoes - from sandals to sneakers

The last post I wrote I was skiing in Vermont. Since then, a lot has changed, as you all know.

neon summer shoes

I know you may be reading this or seeing the title and thinking will there even be a summer? We can’t think too far ahead, the world is changing every second. I think all we can do is have hope and manifest good thoughts. Postivity and hope will spread. Sending love and hope to you all.

Now shifting gears to neon summer shoes! Since being in quarantine, I’ve been shopping 100% too much, especially on shoes. Which I really don’t know why I am doing this because everyday I’m wearing the same raggedy old t-shirt and slippers…

Regardless, I wanted to share my summer shoe finds, ranging from sneakers to sandals. A major trend that carried over from last summer is neon. I don’t think I can pull off neon anything, and it’s totally a statement and overpowering on me, so I went with neon shoes. I love them!!

All of the shoes I bought are under $50, which is amazing!!

Orange and pink summer sandals

I don’t remember how I found these, but as soon as I saw them on DSW’s website, I knew I needed them, no matter what. That sounds so dramatic, but I serisouly saw them and was obsessed. A quick Instagram poll convinced me. I love the other colors the shoes come in too. Unsure when I’ll wear them, but I love them. They’re my favorite neon shoes for the summer.

Neon New Balance shoes

Here’s the thing, when I think of New Balance, I think of the ultimate dad shoe. NOT THESE THOUGH. I am obsessed with these neon sneakers. One of my favorite bloggers, Bre Sheppard, debuted them on her Instagram and I was obsessed. Then my roommmate got a pair of pink Puma sneakers and I was like yup, you’re all influencing me and telling me I need neon sneakers. So here we are, my best friend gifted me with these neon New Balance sneakers on my birthday!

Snake skin slip ons (similar)

I found these at a boutique in Red Bank, New Jersey, from Dor L’ Dor. I was shopping with a friend and I was going back and forth on whether I “needed” them or not. I clearly ended up buying them and think they were a good buy! With an all black look they make a little statement.

Black platform sandals

I love, love, love these! They’re so fun and will go perfectly with a number of outfits. On sale for under $35, so go buy now. That’s all.

Superga espadrille platform sneakers

I’ve been eyeing these espadrille supergas for a really long time. I showed my roommate them awhile ago and then my birthday came around and there they were. They’re going to be perfect for the summer, I love the little gold detailing too.

Spring to summer pieces & sales!

So in no way do my weekly picks make a cohesive outfit together, but as seperates I love the pieces!

I bought a similar more flowy pair of paper boy shorts in beige but I love these, they’re more structured. On Nasty Gal, the model is wearing these shorts with a white straight across bodysuit, I love it. It’s a great spring to summer piece and looks more relaxed then denim shorts.

  • Nasty Gal is everything 60% off everything!!

I’ve had my eye on a satchel like this since last summer, when the trend first started. I didn’t want to spend a lot on this bag because it’s a seasonal purchase. I found one on Shein, Shein is my go to for accessories, bathing suits and bags. The quality of their clothing is a hit or miss. The bag looks exactly like this picture, although the quality isn’t great, it works and is functional.

OK so I got these shoes because I have a summer internship in NYC at PIX11, so I will be walking a good amount. I knew my feet wouldn’t survive in my flats, they have 0 support and after a long day my feet are DEAD. I found these, I’ll let you know if I like them, but they seem to have a lot of support. I also love the look of these with the white platform and tassel on top. So if you’re a working girl, I think these are so cute.

  • FYI these are orignially $99, I found them on Macy’s for 50% off, score!!!

I’m obsessed with statement earrings. Like they transform looks to me, I’m obsessed. Typically, I purchase my statement earrings from Shein, but Francesca’s is having a huge mothers day sale, earrings are 2 for $25!! I love these beige and white ones, so summery.

Back to Nasty Gal, I’m all for funky sunglasses, but I don’t want to spend the money on them. These are tortoise printed which I love and are cat eye so super different. Deffinitely not an everyday pair but they could make a simple outfit super fun!

  • Again, Nasty Gal is 60% off.

Style watch: Hair clips, like these.

Must Have Summer Accessories

Summer is just about here but not quiet yet, it leaves plenty of time to stock up on some accessories for summer. Just in time for summer I put together some of my must have accesories, and I also included tips on saving on all of these items. For my secrets on saving money when shopping click here.

First up is a plain baseball cap. I wear baseball caps nearly everyday during the school year, but in my opinion they’re essential to my wardrobe during all seasons. A simple white baseball cap would match anything on days you’re just to lazy to wear makeup or have your hair done.

My second must have are statement earrings. I am obsessed lately with statment earrings because they make a simple outfit exciting and different. To me a perfect outfit is denim jeans or shorts, a simple white tee, statement earrings and espadrilles. That SCREAMS summer to me. So the problem is that statment earrings can be pricy and in my opinion they’re more of a seasonal summer/spring piece. I wouldn’t reccomend Romwe for clothing BUT for earrings you only wear a few times out of the year they have a great selection. Romwe has plenty of dupes for Baublebar statement earrings. Don’t get disscouraged by Romwe’s website, it can be chaotic, you really have to search for a good pair of earrings. I reccomend Forever21‘s as well! Ill attach below the pairs I bought and recommend.

Next up are bandanas. Bandanas are similar to statement earrings in my opinion. They dress up any plain outfit and add a fun touch to your hair. I know Madewell, Princess Polly, Nordstrom and Urban Outfitters have some good ones if you look for them!

My favorite summer shoes (other then my Jack Rogers) are Espadrilles. Everyday I find I pair I am in love with. The pink pair below I recently bought at a local boutique and I’m obsessed. I love the look of them and they’re just so practical because they go with almost everything. The flatform gives an even 1-2 inches to your height, perfect for someone short like me. The pink pair definitely needed some breaking into around the toes but it was well worth it. The pink pair comes in a number of colors. Espadrilles seem to be like last summers Mules trend (which I still love). The blue pair are surprisingly from Forever21, I love the look of them and the navy will go with almost anything.

I found all these pieces through the app Dote. It is perfect for when your’re looking for specific items because it searches for the product through all the stores featured in the app (which are most stores). The app lets you know when your favorite items go on sale and you can reedem coins each day for free shipping and more!

Pop of Red

It’s been quite some time, but I am back! The chaos of getting ready for my freshman year of college has finally settled and now I am just shopping for some dorm necessities. I took some time out to travel to Asbury Park, New Jersey (about a half hour south of me) to take some pictures and enjoy good food. I’ve talked about Porta before on here but in case you missed it, it’s a trendy, Italian hotspot for shore loving New Jerseyans. Click here for my last post at Porta.

This time around I took some pictures with one of my best friends, headed to Porta for lunch and then indulged in delicious vegan ice cream at a shop called Cookman Creamery.

My outfit I wanted to keep really, really simple. I wanted the outfit to revolve around the bright red mules. You can get them here for only $21. I am obsessed with them because they’re not only super affordable but they make any simple outfit pop. I stuck with classic, silver accessories to match the metal around the pockets of my white skirt. My top is a simple, plunging, grey body suit and again, super affordable. Outfit details are below!

Grey Bodysuit: Boohoo (now $6)

White Skirt: Lucky Clover

Necklaces: Gifted

Rings: Alex & Ani

Shoes: 2020Ave

December Favorites!

Happy New Year! Here is a bunch of products and clothing items I’ve been loving in December. It hasn’t been the chilliest of December’s for New Jersey but I am waiting any second now for a blizzard.

Every Christmas my Aunt and Uncle get me perfume and every year they pick out the absolute best scents. I tend to like stronger, harsher scents. I hate floral, girly scents so this one is just perfect! This one by Calvin Klein will definitely be a staple for more dressy occasions.

This by far one of my favorite Christmas gifts. It is the cutest, coziest pullover and I love it. I can’t help but feel like a big teddy bear while wearing it. It’s from Southern Shirt, unfortunately right now it is out of stock.

I was in desperate need of casual shoes I could slip on with just about anything. Fortunately, I found these Steve Madden slip ons in grey!

My favorite lip products this month are the Nivea Recovery chapstick and the Maybelline 015 Born With It lipstick. The Nivea chapstick has been essential during these cold months. So that my lips don’t get chapped overnight, I apply this right before bed. It is the best chapstick I’ve used to date, plus has the benefits of SPF. The Maybelline lipstick I apply before school or before going out. It’s a neutral shade that I usually add gloss over, for a natural pinkish tone.

My final favorite for the month of December is the new Naked Urban Decay Smoky palette. I’ve been loving the shimmery golds but also have been appreciating the warmer, darker tones for the winter time. I recommend having a good primer underneath so the shadows have something to stick to, they’re not creamy. My one negative comment is that there is a lot of drop out that falls under your eyes. When using this product I recommend doing your eyes first so any drop out you can clean with a makeup wipe after.
