Pants and Shoes to elevate your workwear

Elevating workwear – Pants & Shoes

elevating workwear

Being a reporter, you’re constantly on your feet and running around. As many of us know, no day is the same.

It’s hard sometimes to find pants, shoes, and shirts, that are comfortable to wear the entire day! I’ve always struggled with being comfortable, while finding something cute to wear.

Pants have always been my go-to rather than skirts. We’re constantly bending down, picking up gear and schlepping it all around. A skirt or dress is sometimes the recipe for a wardrobe disaster/malfunction.

With a new job around the corner, I’ve really been trying to elevate my work wardrobe. I’ve found that the split hem pants from Old Navy are the comfiest, multi-functional pants EVER. They’re also under $30! I was SHOCKED to find them. They feel like leggings and are a thick matieral. I got the brown and black since I loved the one pair so much. You can dress the pants up for work, down for around the house and even wear them for night out.

The trouser pants are from Express and are on sale RIGHT NOW in beige and black. If you’re under 5’5, defintely opt for the short. They’re still a little long on me but perfect with a 2 inch bootie. I heard the Abercrombie trousers aren’t very good quality so I opted for the Express ones and I love them.

I’ve found loafers are the best shoes for reporting (other than sneakers). Loafers have a sneaker base to them so they’re more ideal than a complete flat or heel.

Anchor/Reporter dresses under $50

anchoring dressses

Here are anchor/reporter dresses under $50! It’s hard sometimes finding dresses in our business because it’s very “old school.” Do you know what I mean? News is like the only business left that still wears business dresses like this. I find it kind of funny!

I’ve found Nordstrom Rack, Calvin Klein, and Amazon have the BEST dresses for anchors and reporters.

I’m going to aim to post “Dresses under $50” each week! Hope this helps 🙂

They’re all so comfy and great quality. The blue and white one are cotton, which is super breathable for hot summer days in the field!

All are from NY&C and can be found below!

Here are all of my favorites for this years Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

I don’t even know where to start when this sale comes around. This is usually the time I buy my brown boots for the fall season, but my boots have kept up their look and shape. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is definitely the best time to buy your favorite pricy item because it is most likely marked down. For non-card holders the sale begins July 20th and ends on August 5th. I’d say my favorite item at the moment is the Double V Rib Knit Tank, perfect to throw on with any type of shorts for the summer. FYI it comes in a ton of different colors!

Pop of Red

It’s been quite some time, but I am back! The chaos of getting ready for my freshman year of college has finally settled and now I am just shopping for some dorm necessities. I took some time out to travel to Asbury Park, New Jersey (about a half hour south of me) to take some pictures and enjoy good food. I’ve talked about Porta before on here but in case you missed it, it’s a trendy, Italian hotspot for shore loving New Jerseyans. Click here for my last post at Porta.

This time around I took some pictures with one of my best friends, headed to Porta for lunch and then indulged in delicious vegan ice cream at a shop called Cookman Creamery.

My outfit I wanted to keep really, really simple. I wanted the outfit to revolve around the bright red mules. You can get them here for only $21. I am obsessed with them because they’re not only super affordable but they make any simple outfit pop. I stuck with classic, silver accessories to match the metal around the pockets of my white skirt. My top is a simple, plunging, grey body suit and again, super affordable. Outfit details are below!

Grey Bodysuit: Boohoo (now $6)

White Skirt: Lucky Clover

Necklaces: Gifted

Rings: Alex & Ani

Shoes: 2020Ave
